Select the country and object's type Arkansas Residents to Vote on Name for 175th Birthday Celebration

Arkansas is celebrating 175 years as a state. The Department of Parks and Tourism thinks you may have something to say about that. Literally.

There are at least four ways to say 175. From now until Sunday, May 8, you can help select which one will be the official name for the state’s 175th Birthday.

Go to www.arkansas.com/175 and vote for the one you think is best or just the most fun to say. The options are:

Dodransbicentennial

Dequasbicentennial

Terquasquicentennial

Septaquintaquinquecentennial

You can vote once every day! The Department of Parks and Tourism will announce the winning name Tuesday, May 10 as part of the celebrations for Tourism Week in Arkansas.

That same day, the Department will announce the list of 175 Top Places to Visit (as determined by activity and searches on Arkansas.com). Then the real fun begins. You’ll get to rank the best places to visit and things to see or do in Arkansas.

The Top 10 attractions which get the most votes will be announced Wednesday, June 15, Arkansas’s birthday as a state.

This is your chance to make sure your favorite spots in Arkansas are given the recognition they deserve. Arkansas is getting older, and you get to be the party planner!
