JOIN DOWNTOWN ALLIANCE IN GOING GREEN IN BOWLING GREEN
As part of its “Going Green Lower Manhattan” program, the Alliance for Downtown New York will give away 4,000 geraniums this fall to anyone who lives in, works in or is visiting Lower Manhattan. On Wednesday, October 12 from 10AM to 12PM at Bowling Green Park, come get a potted plant to bring back to your office or home.
Following the geranium giveaway, on Saturday, October 22 from 10AM to 12PM at Bowling Green Park, the Alliance for Downtown New York will hold its annual Fall Community Planting Day. A team of volunteers will turn out to plant tulips and prepare for spring. There will be free pumpkin cupcakes courtesy of Crumbs, pumpkins and cider thanks to Whole Foods, and a booth for kids to learn planting skills. Tools will be supplied by the Department of Parks & Recreation.
The Downtown Alliance’s Going Green Lower Manhattan initiative, is dedicated to building an environmentally sustainable Lower Manhattan. The event is made possible with support from the Con Edison, New York City Department of Parks & Recreation, Partnership for Parks, Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer, Council Member Chin, Community Board 1, Whole Foods Market and Crumbs Bake Shop.
