Bianco & Nero 2012
From 1st to 10th September Udine will host the third Bianco&Nero festival, a great event rich in art, photography, music and culture, whose leading thread is black and white, the colours that symbolize the city of Udine. Don’t miss: the exhibition “I Dieci Comandamenti, il Matrimonio tra Paradiso e Inferno” (The Ten Commandments, the Marriage between Heaven and Hell) by the famous U.S. artist Keith Haring, the exclusive concert by Ennio Morricone on his new tour, the photo exhibition “Dogs” by Elliott Erwitt, a real icon of advertising shooting, dedicated to a project on dogs, and the concert “Il Bene e Il Male” (Good and Evil) by the world-renowned eclectic pianist Stefano Bollani.

European knife and axe throwing championship
The European knife and axe throwing championship 2012 is held in the wonderful setting around Italy’s most northern town, Forni Avoltri, in the Carnic Alps. The main purpose of the event is to gather throwers from various European countries, but it is also an original and thrilling appointment for everyone. Moreover, Forni Avoltri is an ideal location for hikes in the mountains, bicycle rides, horse riding and roller skiing.

FilosofiaGrado
The spectacular shores of Grado, the golden Island, are the setting of the first Filosofiagrado festival. A succession of philosophy lectures and seminars, cinema workshops and meetings with authors, in which contemporary philosophy focuses on the crisis of emancipatory discourse and on the predominance of mass media discourse, which suggests the forms of our experience, at the time of the end of ideologies and of the global circulation of ideas, of words and of brands.

Dog Olympic Games 2012
Lignano Sabbiadoro, Friuli Venezia Giulia’s renowned seaside resort, hosts the second Dog Olympic Games (DOG). Many dogs from many countries will participate in this international event, engaging themselves in agility, orienteering, tunnel cup, dog dance, disc dog, rally obedience and water sports, as well as in the games without frontiers, a funny team game. There will also be several seminars presenting dog-sporting activities and scientific and cultural events focussing on the cognitive and zooanthropological concept of the relationship between human beings and dogs.

Fieste da patate - Potato festival
Gemona del Friuli, symbol of the tenacious and hard-working Fruilian character, hosts the eleventh Fieste da patate, the typical town festival dedicated to potatoes with tasting of specialities based on local potatoes prepared according to Friuli’s ancient family traditions. Gemona, dominated by a magnificent cathedral, lies at the foot of the Julian Pre-Alps and is one of the most beautiful historical locations in Friuli Venezia Giulia.

Italian Symphony
Classical music concerts of international level and exclusive music events will accompany every day the participants of the first travel itinerary called “Friuli in musica”. An itinerary that starts from Friuli’s mountains, crossing the plain of central Friuli, passing through the magnificent Villa Manin of Passariano, until reaching the charming landscape of Marano Lagunare. Three music events in three amazing locations: the Palazzo Veneziano in Malborghetto, an ancient mill near Codroipo and, finally, a historic dwelling near Clauiano, one of Italy’s most beautiful villages.

Aquileia Lab - have fun learning
Learning to make mosaics like the ancient Romans, baking a bread with an ancient flavour with honey, fruit and spices, discovering vices and virtues of legendary and mythological figures, going to school in the ancient Rome: at Aquileia Lab children can learn charming crafts and identify themselves with historical figures. Trieste Espresso Expo
Trieste, a multicultural city, the symbol of coffee art and culture, will host Italy’s most important B2B trade fair dedicated to the production of espresso coffee. This biennial event involves about 9000 operators coming from 85 countries, from the producers of coffee machines, roasting machines, cups and packaging, to the producers of green coffee, roasted coffee, services and accessories.
