Turkey is a rapidly modernizing country with one foot in Europe and one in the Middle East. Geography and climate offer a wide range of opportunities to practice any sport and activities to do: sailing, scuba diving, rafting and canoeing, fishing, skiing and etc.Turkish cuisine has Mediterranean, Caucasian, and Arabic influences. Typical dishes in Turkey are kebab, meze (that is a mixture of appetizers featuring olives, cheese, and pickles), different kinds of fish and seafood, including trout (alabahk), turbot (kalka) and swordfish and sweet desserts such as halva followed by a small cup of thick strong Turkish coffee.
